Dan Chen
As an actor, Dan has appeared in numerous films, television shows, and theatre productions including guest-starring roles on The Sopranos and Third Watch. He is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and also studied acting at Cornell University, Columbia University, and The Hangar Theatre Lab Company. He is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild and The Present Company's Pool.
As a writer, Dan has had his “Strangers Till Now” trilogy of plays (Dick and Jane; Yes Before Goodbye; and Dear In Headlights) produced in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. His most recent short play, Road Test, was selected to be a focal piece at the 2009 Mid-America Theatre Conference. He also wrote, directed, and produced the short film Bird Boy while earning a filmmaking certificate at The New York Film Academy. Dan is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
As a lawyer, Dan has served as production counsel for several film and theatre projects including Homecoming (starring Josh Hamilton, Maureen Flannigan, Joseph Cross, and Brooke Rachel Shive) and Bluff Point (starring Joel McKinnon Miller and Julie McNiven). Prior to his current position as in-house counsel for The New York Racing Association, Inc., Dan served as Associate Counsel for WRNN-TV. He is a member of the New York State Bar.
